The power dynamic is slightly different when it’s a woman with a man, but I’m not excluding that case. I’m saying that the majority of cases are men raping women. And in most cases the point of it is power over the victim, not for sex. Also as an aside, in most of those cases, there is an argument that many of those men also feature sexual dysfunction. If a woman would have been that drunk and talked into sex a majority here would have screemed ‘Rape! I must have missed the part where she came to like him for himself.
Who would let this woman operate on them? She actually needs to go to a psych ward. It’s the only ending for her that will satisfy me. That or if she decides to drop off the grid and go explore the world to find her true self, be one with nature, yaddah yaddah (turn the crazy bitch into a feather-in-the-wind, puka-shell-wearing hippie!)…. If we were to compare, there are definitely many more worse second leads out there. Thank you Lollypip and girlfriday for the great and heartfelt recaps. Love this series so much but wished we had more time to just savor the OST relationship for a little longer.
It’s cute how the other women in the waiting room urge Mom to take the money and kick the man out, but the men are all “These women are so disloyal! ” Mom grudgingly takes the money (and Dad), to a round of applause. Meanwhile Ki-tae drinks with Dad, who’s calmed down enough to say that he understands that Ki-tae was just being cautious with Jang-mi.
Good directing, writing, and most of all, good actors. This drama did not have any pretensions at being life-like, or having any deep meaning. It never attempted to moralize or to stylize the scenes (again, unlike Doctor Stranger). It was just plain heartwarming, and hilarious and insightful towards the end. Watching this became a bonding time with my wife who kept on nagging me to check whether the latest episode was already out. Just when they thought it couldn’t get any worse, the sky opens up and it starts to pour.

Ki-tae’s mom calls Jang-mi a pro at fooling people, which is one too many insults for her mother, and she grabs her daughter to leave. She carries the gift blankets with Jang-mi trailing behind her like a naughty child, until they run into Ki-tae. Mom screams at him for calling her “Mother,” and tells him never to go near Jang-mi again. He tries to explain, but both women leave him standing in the street helpless.
When this drama started I forgot about it and all the news that were posted here. I was just checking viki and it appeared, I read the description and watched episode 1. But I am beginning to love Korean culture and actors.

It sits as my second favorite forever and this drama totally deserves a number one spot if only i wasnt so fond of my fangirling busan high schooler. Love the stormy sky backdrop with the whole wedding tableau. Plus I’ve spent basically the whole drama admiring Han Groo’s fantastic legs.
Second leads serve a purpose but eventually it gets to a point where it’s time to wrap things up with them and focus on the OTP and I wish the show had done that a little faster. Their scenes with their parents were so heart wrenching though, especially Jang-mi’s with her parents. It makes their separation all the more sad when their families fall apart as a result. Them being together just made everything in their lives better and I just want them to all be a big, happy family (minus the sleazy dad). So, this weekend was quite precarious for me. As I mentioned in the last recap, this weekend left me with the serous desire to punch everyone involved in the face.
